Within 2 hours of arriving, I had a cold beer in hand. Curry was ordered. My t-shirt was sopping wet. And after a swim, I was deep into my first of many long naps.
Spoiler alert: I have done virtually the same thing every day since.
Google says a blog ought to be interesting or educational so I regret to inform you that this update is neither. There will be no tales of elephant rides, shocking stories of bungee jumping or adventures of deep sea diving included. Because sometimes, you may just need to do nothing. At least that's what I keep telling myself. As you can probably imagine, I have worried about doing nothing. I worry about not going on every excursion or saying yes to every fellow-hosteler's invite. I give full credit to my former bosses for helping me hone my anxiety-ridden, multitasking obsession.
Although I've been without a job since the election in October, I've had plenty to keep me busy including school, moving out of my apartment, Christmas holidays, packing for this trip and of course, friends and family. While I still have a few papers to write, the pace of life has come to a startling halt. I remind myself that it will take a little while to adjust. In the meantime, I will take a deep breath and go for a beach-side massage for variety!
